- CPU: 64-bit Intel® or AMD® multi-core processor with SSE4.2 instruction set
- Graphics Hardware: Refer to 3ds Max Certified Hardware for a detailed list of recommended systems and graphics cards
- RAM: 4 GB of RAM minimum (8 GB or more recommended)
- Disk Space: 9 GB of free disk space for install
- Pointing Device: Three-button mouse

3ds Max support with Apple macOS
Issue: You want to know if you can run 3ds Max on an Apple computer using Boot Camp, Parallels or VMWare.
Solution:
Autodesk previously supported 3ds Max running on Apple Macintosh hardware under Boot Camp, Parallels or VMWare. However, issues with Windows 10 and graphics driver incompatibilities have made it difficult to ensure a positive customer experience with this setup.
Although 3ds Max users may still be able to install and run their software successfully on the Apple Macintosh today, Autodesk no longer offers technical support or troubleshooting help for 3ds Max installations running under virtualization.
If encountering issues with 3ds Max while running it in virtual environments, please see the manufacturer of the virtual environment manager software package, such as Apple (for Boot Camp), Parallels, Citrix or VMware.
